GLOBAL STARTS LOCAL: CAN MAYORS WIN THE BATTLE AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE? (NWL)

Owen Eagan Jr - West Hartford DemocratsWEDNESDAY – Why would a mayor—a local official—care about an issue like climate change that reaches around the globe? New research from a Georgetown University thesis shows that for many mayors, this global issue is a local battle fought on many fronts.

Join Georgetown graduate Owen R. Eagan for a lecture that explores this issue, bringing a worldwide problem to the local level and surveying West Hartford’s role in the solution. Mayor Shari Cantor will deliver the opening remarks at the event. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.

Be sure to arrive on time—the first 10 attendees to enter the room will receive a complimentary reusable grocery bag!  Please park in the nearby Isham Garage and come directly to the Noah Webster Library Meeting Room, 20 South Main Street, West Hartford. Bypass the pay kiosk in the parking garage and come right to the library to validate your parking with your car’s license plate number.
