2020 Democratic National Convention

The next phase of the presidential election starts today, August 17, with the launch of the Democratic National Convention. The convention will take place Monday through Thursday and will broadcast from 9:00 to 11:00 PM Eastern Time. According to the DNC, each night of the convention will feature “both live and curated content originating from Milwaukee and other satellite cities, locations and landmarks across the country.”

The first night of the convention will address the “series of monumental challenges” facing Americans, notably the ongoing pandemic and economic recession as well as civil unrest bringing attention to racism and inequality in the country. Speakers will include former first lady Michelle Obama, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, former Ohio Gov. John Kasich (a Republican), Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
