AN IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR WEST HARTFORD RESIDENTS WHO USUALLY VOTE AT ELMWOOD COMMUNITY CENTER (District 4):

Your voting location for the upcoming August 11 primary and all subsequent elections is being moved to Charter Oak International Academy at 425 Oakwood Avenue. Polls will still be open 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

This change was made for a number of reasons, including convenience, more parking, separate entrance and exit, more space for social distancing and room to accommodate more privacy booths.

The Registrar of Voters has mailed a reminder to voters in that district, and will be sending another in the next couple of weeks that will include a map of where to park and where to enter the building. A town-wide phone message will also be delivered in August before the primary.
SPREAD THE WORD!

ADDITIONAL DETAILS ABOUT THE PRIMARY: Per the Registrar of Voters, there will be extra staff on hand to assist at all polling locations. The polls will be cleaned throughout the day as recommended by the CDC and Department of Public Health. Poll workers will be masked and maintaining six feet distance. These and other precautionary measures will be taken to provide a safe environment for all to exercise their right to vote.

Every registered Republican and Democrat in Connecticut will be receiving an application to vote by absentee ballot from the CT Secretary of State’s Office via the U.S. Postal Service. Absentee ballots will be sent out as soon as they are available.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please call the Registrar of Voters at 860-561-7450.
